• Focus on Peter Linbergh

    Today, it is IWC Schaffhausen watches that gave free rein to creative Peter Lindbergh in a series of photographs around their flagship brand, the Portofino in an exhibition in Cannes during the festival.

    With Cate Blanchett, Eric Dane, Kevin Spacey, Luis Figo, Matthew Fox as well as Zinedine Zidane, Peter Lindbergh has assembled a cast of shock to his photographic project entitled: A night in Portofino. To highlight the show, the artist has conceived a film shooting taking place in the popular seaside resort.

    Exposed in Cannes until the end of the festival, the photographs are backstage of a film shoot taking place in Italy.

    German photographer Peter Lindbergh was born in 1944 in Lissa in the former East Germany. His real name Peter Brodbeck, he first intended to be a painter and produced his first sculpture exhibition late 60s. However, he decided to turn to photography, especially black and white which makes his success.

    Praised everywhere and adored by tops such as Naomi Campbell or Linda Evangelista, his favorite subject is undoubtedly Woman, for whom he has deep respect. Showen especially in his book published in 1996 Ten Women, which was a great success. His most noted picture is probably that taken for the Vogue cover: of Catherine Deneuve, with no make-up.

    With this series in Portofino, the photographer pays tribute to cinema and confirms once again his talent.
