Editing your profile

Editing your profile picture

To change your profile picture, go to your profile ("My Profile" page), below your current profile image, click on "Change my avatar". Now, through the "Browse" button, select a picture from your computer and click on "Load picture". And then, click on the "Save" button.

Editing your profile settings

To edit your profile settings, go to the "Account" section of the "My Parameters" page. On this page, you can change your name, your first name, your screen name, the site language, customize your profile URL, your e-mail and your password.

Editing your professional information

To edit your professional information, go to "My Profile" and then click on "Edit my profile". You can also change it through the "Professional information" section of the "My Parameters" page. On this page you can change your description, add your web site(s), your jobs, the industries you are working in, and your interests.

Editing your contact information

If your contact information is empty, you can add one or several by going to "My Contact information" and clicking on "Add contact information". If you want to edit your contact information, go to the "Edit Contact Information" section of the "My Parameters" page. After adding a contact information, just click on the "Save" button, and you're done.

Sharing a status or other content

You can update your status and share photos, videos, links and documents through the share menu that is located on your wall ("My wall") and on the home page of Pressbook ("My home"). The things you share appear on the wall of your profile and also on the main wall of your networks.

Using the Inbox feature

Sending a new message

There are many ways to send a message to someone. If you are viewing someone's profile, you can click on the "Send message" link under his or her profile picture. You can also go to directly to your inbox through the "My Inbox" link in your drop-down menu. Once you are on your inbox, click on "Write new message". Enter the name of a friend, type a subject and a message and click on "Send". Note : If you want to send the same message to many users, just type many names instead of only one.

Reading, deleting and managing messages

To read a message go to your inbox through the "My Inbox" link in your drop-down menu. Once you are on your inbox, click on the title of your new message. To delete a message, go in you inbox and place your mouse over the message you want to delete. Many links should appear. Click on "Delete message" to delete your message. If you want to delete many messages, select the messages, and click on the "Delete" button at the top of your inbox page. You can also archive messages, view your sent messages, mark messages as read or unread, …

Invitations

To access your invitations, go to the main drop-down menu, and click on "My Inbox". Then, click on "Invitations".

To access your notifications, go to the main drop-down menu and click on "My Inbox". Then, click on "Notifications".

Searching for people and their content

Search basics

To search a member or any content on Pressbook, use the search bar located on the top of the screen and type the name or the keyword you are looking for.

Using filters

If you want your search to be more specific, you can use filters. To do that, use the main search bar, once the results display, click on the filter you want to apply (All, Users, Books or Medias).

Using the sorting feature

If you want to sort the results of your search, you can either sort them by relevance, clicking on "Sort by relevance", or sort them by date, clicking on "Sort by date".

Using the displaying feature

You can either display your search results as a gallery, clicking on "Gallery Mode", or as list, clicking on "List Mode".

Privacy and general settings

Controlling your privacy settings

To modify your confidentiality settings, go to the "Confidentiality" section of the "My Parameters" page. Here you can edit the confidentiality settings for your screen name, your picture, your professional information, your contacts, the groups you joined, and for your wall.

Groups basics

Joining a group

To join a group, simply go to the group you want to join, and click on the button "join this group", located under the group menu, or "Follow this group" on the group page.

Creating a group

You can create a group by going to your profile, then place your mouse over the "Enrich my book" drop-down menu. Now, click on "Create a group" ; a pop-up should appear, just fill the fields and you're done!

Inviting members to join a group

To invite members to join a group, go to the group you want to invite members in, and click on the button "Invite my contacts", located under the group menu. A pop-up should appear. Select your contacts you want to invite, add a message if you want and click on "Send the invitations".Note : You must join that group to be allowed to invite members in it.

Leaving a group

To leave a group, go to the click on the "My groups" link located in the main drop-down menu. Once you are on the "My groups" page, there are two ways to leave groups. You can select the group(s) you want to leave and then click on the "Leave" button located at the top. Or you can simply click on "Leave" located at the bottom-right of the group you want to leave.

Sharing content in a group

To share content in a group, use the share menu located at the top of the group to post updates, photos, videos, links, documents and events.

Administrating a group

Editing the parameters of a group

To edit the parameters of a group, go to the group you created, once on the page, click on "Administration" and then on "Parameters". Here you can change the name of the group, the description of the group and the privacy settings. Note : You must be the administrator of the group to edit its parameters.

Managing the members of a group

To manage the members of a group, go to the group you created, once on the page, click on "Administration" and then on "Members". Here you can send a message to all the members of your group, manage your members' rights, add an administrator...

News

On this page, you can find newsfeed of the modeling industry and the news about Pressbook.com network. You can choose to display all news or news from Pressbook.com or from the industry, or only your contributions to news. To post a new article, click on "post news article" and write the title of your new, choose one or more category of your article or create a new one then write you new. Click on post to save and send it.

Books basics

Creating a book

To create a book, put your mouse over the "Upadte my pressbook" dropdown menu, and click on "Create a book". Fill all the fields and when you're done save your new book by clicking on "Create book".

Uploading photos in an existing book

To add photos to an existing book, go to the book's page and click on the "Edit" icon. To add photos, click on "Add/Remove a media". Select a media to upload and you're done!

Editing and viewing books

You can access to your books through "My books" and manage the way your media are displayed, add new media, edit description of the book or delete the books.

Adding photo descriptions

You can add a description when you upload a picture, or if the photo is already uploaded you can edit it by clicking on the "Media information" icon, and then on "Modify media info".

Sharing a book with people who don't use Pressbook

You can share your books with people who are not on Pressbook. To do so, go to the book you want to share, and click on the "Share" icon.

Commenting a photo

At the bottom of each photo, you will see a share menu, so you can comment any media.

Tagging someone on a photo : Participants

You can tag the participants who worked on a photo by clicking on the "Add someone else" button at the bottom of the picture, they will receive a notification by e-mail to confirm their participation.

Books Privacy and Management

Editing the privacy settings for a book

To manage the privacy setting for an existing book, go to the book's page you want to control, then click on the "Edit book" icon, then you can manage the book and decide if you want to make its visibility public or private. If you chose to make it private, you will be the only one to see it and its content.

Deleting a book

To delete a book, go to the book's page you want to delete, click on the "Edit book" icon and then click on "Delete book". The media of the book won't be deleted and you still can find them in the "My media" section.

Deleting a photo

To delete a photo, go on "My media" and click on "Delete this media" (the trash icon) next to the picture you want to delete.
